The Nintendo DS(i) has a Function to Download games via WLAN/WIFI, is it possible to modify the "Nintendo Wi-Fi USB-Connector"-Software to start Homebrew, like a Installer for a "Homebrew-Channel"? It´s just a idea from me, but i think it can be easy. (I´m sorry for my bad english, but i´m from Germany and i´m not very good in english...) --Plinfa 23:49, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

: I was actually thinking of something like that, except for normal DS Download Play. You can modify a wireless network card to send out DS Download signals, however, as someone pointed out in the forums, very few cards support this. For the ones that do, it might be possible for the owners and their friends and family to get homebrew. Maybe they could take the network cards and a laptop to conventions and spread homebrew further. I don't know. --Zack 13:47, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

:: DS Download Play uses RSA cryptography for verifying the authenticity of the transmitted data. A DSi or DS receiving a homebrew game would reject it. Note that this does work on DS when you have FlashMe, a hacked version of the original DS firmware. --neimod

::::::::::::::It wasn't the color -- hell, the use of Phorum itself is enough to make them look similar (it's not exactly a flashy piece of software!).  I was more offended by the copy-pasting of forum structure (hierarchy, titles and descriptions) without even bothering to ask. If someone had set up the DSIbrew Wiki without asking me first, I would have been peeved at them, too. -- Bushing 03:51, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

There hasnt been any activity on the wiki lately, are the Wiibrew admins still working on an exploit/hack/homebrewloader/etc.? has Team Twizzers forgot about this? What happened to Dsibrew?-------Darklink 20:20, 24 October 2009 (UTC)

New Opportunity for DSi playing DS games from SD card
 +
 +
Hi, I am Zhenyi Lin from China.
 +
I would like to give some information, which I believe may be essential for DSI homebrew.
 +
 +
At first, I must tell us that DSi had already came out in China. It has its unique name: IQue DSi, with Chinese Agency company: iQue
 +
 +
There are one old but classical DS game along with buying the new machine. That is "Nintendo Dog".
 +
 +
You may think it is ordinary using such way to publicize, but to be special, this DS Nintendo Dog exists just in the form of software storing directly in DSi memory, without the physial DS card.
 +
 +
I believe this information may be useful for DSI brew, at least be helpful for studying playing DS games directly from SD card.
 +
 +
There is also a short video, wish you could see them.

: Sorry, but there is nothing special about this. It is exactly the same as downloading games through DSiWare, except this game is already pre-loaded. --neimod

Early possible designs and ideas for DSiHB installing.
 +
 +
This idea came to me while playing WarioWare D.I.Y showcase for wii.
 +
 +
Is it possible to send a hack installer (for when one is develeoped) to the dsi via a wii homebrew app and open it on dsi from download play on dsi as a demo app or something similar?
 +
i'm really familiar with wii homebrew stuff, but not so much with the inner workings of the ds and dsi systems.

Dlplay is ds-mode _only_, you can't use any dsi-mode hw from that. Furthermore, the .nds/.srl itself is signed, you'd need to find some(none known currently) vulns for title launching and exploit them.(And of course you'd need some full dsi-mode exploit like a dsiware exploit.) --Yellows8 21:23, 3 January 2011 (CET)

i see.
 +
 +
are there any dsiware titles that connect to a wii title that could possibly be used for an exploit?
 +
Perhaps a hacked wii save (something like twilight hack) that contains data that when sent could crash the system and (like twilight hack) force the system to run custom code?
 +
Maybe a hacked dsiware save?
 +
 +
I'm sugguesting Wii-DSi communication because it dosent seem as secure as the rest of the possible exploit routes.

Wii-DSi exploits aren't possible in the states, huh?
 +
thats a letdown.
 +
 +
Anyway, is all dsi ware run in dsi-mode? because I read about a dsiware game that supports DLplay (a ds-mode only feature).
 +
 +
its called Alt-Play.
 +
 +
Alt-Play Website
 +
 +
DLplay support mentioned for "Between" what ever that is.
 +
 +
The only way that's possible is if the DSiWare runs in ds-mode, right? OR does it send demos to other ds's that run in ds mode? If not-then how can it support DLplay with other systems not running in dsi-mode (Like normal ds systems) Unless they are compatable, (which they probably anen't) this is impossible, right?

The bins that all dsiware sends over dlplay runs in ds-mode only, usually those are only multi-player bins. The main dsi device which dsiware uses is NAND, dlplay bins don't need NAND access. _Nothing_ ever sends dsi-mode bins via dlplay. All dsiware runs in dsi-mode. --Yellows8 19:40, 5 January 2011 (CET)

That's fake, if you look at the end of the video where he system resets you'll see that the selected app is the gamecard. It's only homebrew running from ds-mode flash card. --Yellows8 01:07, 6 January 2011 (CET)

DSi-mode gamecards are fairly useless, those can't access the MMC bus for SD etc. If you want to help find exploitable dsiware(including that bejeweled dsiware if it has ascii/english-only input), just contact us. --Yellows8 19:55, 7 January 2011 (CET)

The common key isn't as useful as most people think; the people that can use it have had it for awhile. I agree about the SPAM though, is there a way we can IP block this f*cker?

Minor Bug
When you edit a page, the wiki asks you to solve a simple math problem after clicking submit. When you do not provide a summary, the wiki also asks you to confirm your edit again. As a result, whenever you do not wish to provide a summary, the process of submitting a change becomes an endless cycle of "do this math problem" and then "confirm that you don't want a summary."--Winmaster 17:36, 5 October 2011 (CEST)

DSi homebrew still dead
 +
Where are the exploits or news of possible exploits?
 +
:Sign your comments. Sudokuhax was *never* publicly mentioned at all prior to release, and that's not going to change. Anyway, since flipnote and dsisound can't be exploited via SD card, that only leaves the photo/camera title. The JPG code I looked at so far is flawless, doubt I'll ever find anything exploitable in that. --Yellows8 19:31, 11 December 2011 (CET)

What about a Browser exploit?
I'm thinking on try something similar to the jailbreakme hak on iOS, but in this case using the boult-in browser of the DSi... Does anyone has tried it? "More than a n00b... 02:48, 28 December 2011 (CET)"
 +
:Yes, that was suggested right away. No usable exploit for the DSi browser has ever been found, even exploits that have worked on Opera for other platforms have failed.
