- There is not much currently known about the operating system. It runs a similar GUI like the Nintendo Wii has in the sense it uses "Channels".
- Apparently photos taken from the DSi can be wirelessly transmitted to the Wii's Photo Channel (needs to be tested)
- The DSi runs in certain permission modes similar to the Wii where running backwards compatibility games turns off the extra hardware and clocks down the CPU.
