This page is dedicated to the listing of exploits for the Nintendo DSi. Anyone may contribute to this list. This page my not, however be deleted in any way, this ensures that that development of this page is not slowed down. Due to the fact that this page has not changed for over a year due to resets, no more resets.

== DSi-mode exploits ==
Team Twiizers released a DSi-mode exploit called [[Sudokuhax]] that loads homebrew from the SD card in DSi-mode. The exploit requires that you have purchased EA's Sudoku game. More details and download: [http://hackmii.com/2011/01/sudokuhax-release/]. Additionally more DSiWare savegame exploits were released for the last time: [http://hackmii.com/2011/08/final-dsiwarehax/]. Copying these savegame exploits to NAND via system settings is [[System_Menu_1.4.2#Global_Update|blocked]] on the latest system version.

shutterbug2000 has created an exploit for Flipnote Studio, which uses a modified flipnote that you have to paste 122 times exactly. The exploit can be used with fwtool to downgrade the dsi to be able to use [[Sudokuhax]] or things like it.

Team Twiizers also have found a DSi-mode exploit in cooking coach and have managed to use it to run DSi-mode homebrew. However it has not yet been released. More details at: [http://hackmii.com/2009/07/dsi-mode-homebrew-anyone/] The additional hardware is just required to get a connection to a computer so that things like ram dumps can be created.

Wintermute has made available an open source DSi hack. The exploit works on DSi enhanced games, allowing you to run custom code from a save file. Instructions for using the exploit can be found here: [http://davejmurphy.com/dslink/]

The cooking coach and classic word games savegame exploits are [[System_Menu_1.4.4|blocked]] on the latest system version. Therefore, the only way to get DSi-mode homebrew running with the latest system version, is with a hardware workaround for the blocked DSi-mode gamecard exploits. Additionally, one could solder the NAND [[Hardware#NAND_pinout|pins]] to a MMC reader/writer, then extract dev.kp for DSiWareHax.

It is also possible for homebrew to be loaded through an Action Replay DSi flashcart. If an nds file is saved onto a micro SD card, and then that micro SD is inserted into the Action Replay, the file can be executed by going to the Files menu.

== DS-mode exploits ==

This type of exploit is undesirable because all DSi functionality, such as usage of the [[cameras]], is unavailable to homebrew.

Blasteh (Blasty) has posted a [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QHO7ctWuZ8 video on Youtube] showing code being run in DS mode on the DSi using [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifa_08 Fifa '08].

Just an idea, but couldn't we make a .gif file that Flipnote could read, then the GIF could crash Flipnote and somehow load up the DSi homebrew?

I'm planning on creating a WiiBrew-like Main Page, but I don't know what color it should be. As far as i can tell, the DSi only comes in black and white, both of which would not be good colors. Any thoughts?

==Wiki==
I am having 2 issues that is low priority at the moment but will sooner or later need to be addressed: 1)The wiki takes 5-10 minutes to update from any changes. Not a biggy but Wiibrew used to have the issue for a few weeks then magically fixed itself. 2)I don't know how it works but on the wiibrew wiki you can use the command <youtube>XXXXXXXXXX</youtube> where the XXXX's represent the video id. #Go into your preferences, click the Misc tab, and check the "Disable page caching" box. That should make the wiki update immediately, as long as you are logged in. It may make loading pages in general slower, though.
#None of the MediaWiki extensions have been installed on DSiBrew yet (see [http://dsibrew.org/wiki/Special:Version DSiBrew's extenstion list] as compared to [http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Special:Version WiiBrew's]. Hopefully they will be installed soon.

You can modify a wireless network card to send out DS Download signals, however, as someone pointed out in the forums, very few cards support this. For the ones that do, it might be possible for the owners and their friends and family to get homebrew. Hi, I am Zhenyi Lin from China.
I would like to give some information, which I believe may be essential for DSI homebrew.

At first, I must tell us that DSi had already came out in China. It has its unique name: IQue DSi, with Chinese Agency company: iQue

There are one old but classical DS game along with buying the new machine. That is "Nintendo Dog".

You may think it is ordinary using such way to publicize, but to be special, this DS Nintendo Dog exists just in the form of software storing directly in DSi memory, without the physial DS card.

I believe this information may be useful for DSI brew, at least be helpful for studying playing DS games directly from SD card.

This idea came to me while playing WarioWare D.I.Y showcase for wii.

Is it possible to send a hack installer (for when one is develeoped) to the dsi via a wii homebrew app and open it on dsi from download play on dsi as a demo app or something similar?

Dlplay is ds-mode _only_, you can't use any dsi-mode hw from that. Furthermore, the [[NDS_Format|.nds/.srl]] itself is signed, you'd need to find some(none known currently) vulns for title launching and exploit them.(And of course you'd need some full dsi-mode exploit like a dsiware exploit.) --[[User:Yellows8|Yellows8]] 21:23, 3 January 2011 (CET)

Perhaps a hacked wii save (something like twilight hack) that contains data that when sent could crash the system and (like twilight hack) force the system to run custom code?
Maybe a hacked dsiware save?

I'm sugguesting Wii-DSi communication because it dosent seem as secure as the rest of the possible exploit routes.

The bins that all dsiware sends over dlplay runs in ds-mode only, usually those are only multi-player bins. The main dsi device which dsiware uses is NAND, dlplay bins don't need NAND access. _Nothing_ ever sends dsi-mode bins via dlplay. :Yes, that was suggested right away. No usable exploit for the DSi browser has ever been found, even exploits that have worked on Opera for other platforms have failed.
