- There is not much currently known about the operating system. It runs a similar GUI like the Nintendo Wii has in the sense it uses "Channels".
Apparently photos taken from the DSi can be wirelessly transmitted to the Wii's Photo Channel (needs to be tested)(not in 1.2 and in 1.3)- The DSi runs in certain permission modes similar to the Wii where running backwards compatibility games turns off the extra hardware and clocks down the CPU.
